Fireplace is not for tenant use. Grill to be used under the deck only. No outside kindled fires permitted. NOTE: Any watercraft that are shown in the photos are not for tenant use. There is a rental company nearby at the end of the pond "National Park Canoe & Kayak Rental" Dock / float may not be in the water during the months of September / October.
"The Lake House" is an incredible home set on an equally-impressive site along the edge of pristine Long Pond, one of MDI's most sought-after freshwater ponds for swimming, recreational boating, or simply relaxing and taking in the gorgeous views of Acadia. Less than 10 minutes from Beech Hill mountain for those looking for a hike close by. Consisting of two residential quarters (affectionately called The Living Pavillion and the Bedroom Pavillion) you'll find there's space for everyone to eat, drink, be merry and then unwind after a fun-filled day. The indoor spaces have been thoughtfully constructed with high-end touches everywhere, with the main focus from both "pavilion's" being how best to showcase the spectacular views. You'll likely spend your time outside, however, as the water-facing decks and the dock (great for sunbathing, boat launching) are spectacular as well.
Living Pavillion First Level: From the drive, walk down a short, well-manicured pathway past the Bedroom Pavillion to the shorefront portion of the home-- The Living Pavillion. A wrap-around deck immediately brings you water side, where you can enter the living room area of the residence from the enormous deck set with furnishings, or you can enter from the side into the kitchen area. No worries, as the open layout keeps the view in focus at all times no matter where you are once inside. The galley-style kitchen is set at the back (non-waterside) and is small but well-equipped, with high end appliances including a gas range, refrigerator and a (small) dishwasher. From the kitchen one overlooks the dining area with a spacious table which can easily accommodate 6-8. Adjacent to the dining area is the living room, awash with light from the windows which flaunt the view. A half bath off the kitchen completes this space.
Bedroom Pavillion First Level: Back up the path you'll find The Bedroom Pavillion. On the first level there is a large and stylish, water-facing bedroom. It contains a queen bed and three single beds (one above the queen and the other two set as bunk beds.) Off this bedroom there's a screened-in porch with a futon-- perfect for an afternoon nap. On this level you'll also find a full bath with shower.
Bedroom Pavillion Second Level: Up the stairs is a lovely area carved out with a desk, chair and countertops, offering plenty of space for those who must mix work with pleasure. Adjacent is the master bedroom, set with a king bed, lovely views of the water, and featuring an enSuite bath with shower.
