Located on Mt. Desert Island's "Quietside" in the fishing village of Bass Harbor, the "Gray Barn Carriage House" is just steps to the water's edge. This lovely property offers all that one could want or need for that truly spectacular Maine vacation! The “Gray Barn Carriage House” has been thoughtfully renovated to offer charm, comfort and modern conveniences with primary living on the 2nd & 3rd levels. Warm wood tones, wood floors, rustic ceiling beams and a soft color palette throughout make for a relaxing landing spot after a busy day of exploring throughout Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park. Harbor views can be enjoyed from almost every room, and the sunsets are spectacular! There is a shared right of way offering shore access for launching kayaks or wandering along the water's edge, but be aware of the tide as it can come in fast. This property is in close proximity to Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse, the Swans Island Ferry, Thurston's Lobster Pound, Archie's Lobster and a couple of nice walking trails of Acadia National Park. Southwest Harbor is just a short drive where you will find an ice cream shop, hardware store, library, shopping and dining options from casual to fine. The Causeway Club, Great Harbor Marina and the historic Claremont Hotel can also be found. Bar Harbor is approximately 25 minutes from the town center. If you don't want to drive you can jump on the free Island Explorer Bus which goes right past the driveway. Just flag it down and hop on!

SECOND LEVEL: Enter into the fully equipped kitchen with dining bar offering seating for 4. Sun room / dining room with passthrough window, table with seating for 4 and a cozy couch for additional seating – all with harbor views. Living room with smart tv, heat pump for cooling and heating and additional views. King bedroom. Full bath.
THIRD LEVEL: Open floor plan offering a king bed and a double bed, a smart tv and a charming little seating area with a table thoughtfully placed in front of the light filled windows with more views. This level also has a heat pump for cooling and heating. NOTE: There is no bathroom on this level or any closets.
